DUBLIN YOUTH CHOIR COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Dublin Youth Choir Company Limited by Guarantee is a vibrant, not‑for‑profit organisation that brings together young singers from Dublin and the surrounding areas through a structured programme of choral music education. Founded in 2017 and based in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, the choir offers a progressive pathway from primary‑school Junior Choirs through Training Choirs (including treble, cambiata and advanced SSA groups), a Youth Choir for 14‑18‑year‑olds, DYC Singers for 18‑28‑year‑olds, a Chamber Choir and a Cross‑Border Youth Choir in partnership with the Belfast Philharmonic Youth Chamber Choir.

The choir’s curriculum is inspired by Zoltán Kodály’s pedagogical principles and focuses on developing musicianship, ensemble‑singing skills and sound vocal technique. Repertoire spans medieval, renaissance and contemporary works, with a strong emphasis on Irish composers such as Seán Doherty, Rhona Clarke, Ben Hanlon and Michael McGlynn. DYC’s achievements include winning the Youth Choir category at the 2019 European Choir Games, being named Ireland’s Choir of the Year at the Cork International Choral Festival in 2022 and 2024, and performing twice at Áras an Uachtaráin at the invitation of President Michael D. Higgins.

Beyond performance, DYC runs the Voices for Change initiative, collaborates with charities such as the Peter McVerry Trust, Down Syndrome Ireland and Trócaire
