ASSOCIATION OF PERSONAL INSOLVENCY PRACTITIONERS COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The Association of Personal Insolvency Practitioners (APIP) is a company limited by guarantee that brings together more than 50 qualified Personal Insolvency Practitioners (PIPs) from across the Republic of Ireland. Its core mission is to help individuals who are struggling with debt to regain control of their finances and, where possible, avoid the loss of their home. By acting as a collective voice for PIPs, APIP ensures that debtors receive professional, compassionate advice and that their interests are represented in negotiations with banks and other creditors.

APIP’s members specialise in a range of statutory debt‑relief solutions, including the Debt Relief Notice (for debts under €35,000), Debt Settlement Arrangements, Personal Insolvency Arrangements (covering secured and unsecured debt up to €3 million) and, as a last resort, bankruptcy. Each practitioner prepares a Prescribed Financial Statement, secures a protective certificate that shields assets for 70 days, and proposes realistic repayment plans that maintain a reasonable standard of living. The association also offers step‑by‑step guidance, industry news, seminars and networking opportunities for its members, reinforcing best practice throughout the sector.
