Paddy Irishman Project Limited is a Dublin‑based, not‑for‑profit visual‑arts initiative that uses portrait photography to challenge long‑standing stereotypes about the Irish male. Founded in 2021 by award‑winning cinematographer and photographer Ross O’Callaghan, the project captures a cross‑generational, multicultural snapshot of 50 men called Paddy, Pat, Padraig, Patrick or any variation thereof. By presenting their stories and images, the series reframes the historically derogatory term “Paddy Irishman” and invites viewers to reconsider what it means to be Irish and male in contemporary society.

The project’s flagship offering is the Paddy Irishman Photography Series, a curated collection of diverse portraits that have already toured New York City and continue to evolve. In partnership with the European creative agency The Brill Building, the initiative receives specialist production and creative support, ensuring the work reaches a broad, international audience. Open to participation, the project encourages anyone who identifies with the name or its cultural resonance to get involved, fostering a new, inclusive narrative of Irish identity.
