Oakwood Créche is a long‑standing early years centre that has been nurturing children in Galway since 1989. Founded by Goretti Wynne and now managed by her daughter Orla, the créche offers a “home away from home” for children aged 12 months to 5 years, delivering a child‑led curriculum based on Aistear and Siolta. Qualified, experienced educators design age‑appropriate, stimulating activities that encourage play, problem‑solving and independent learning, while strict adherence to Tusla’s educator‑to‑child ratios ensures each child receives personalised attention.

The centre provides a full‑day service across five fully equipped rooms, two all‑weather outdoor play areas and a covered space for messy and mark‑making play. Nutrition is a priority, with fresh, HACCP‑trained meals prepared on a four‑week rotating menu that can accommodate dietary requirements. Oakwood Créche also participates in the National Childcare Scheme (NCS) and the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) scheme, passing any subsidies directly onto families.
