Continental Bitumen Ltd is an autonomous subsidiary of the Colas Group, the world’s largest buyer of bitumen, trading over 5 million tonnes annually across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Based in Dublin, the company leverages Colas’s global network of suppliers, its own fleet of eight sea‑tankers and a growing portfolio of terminals to provide reliable, low‑carbon bitumen solutions for refineries, contractors and infrastructure projects.

Key services include the import, blending and storage of bitumen at state‑of‑the‑art facilities – notably a new import and blending plant at Avonmouth and a fully operational PMB manufacturing unit in Warrington. Continental Bitumen also operates a network of around 70 terminals worldwide, offering up to 1 million tonnes of storage capacity, and delivers product by sea, rail and road using both conventional and pioneering LNG‑propelled tankers and road vehicles to cut emissions by up to 90 %.

With a strong focus on sustainable logistics, the company invests in dedicated rail supply chains and environmentally friendly transport, ensuring a secure, high‑quality supply of bitumen to end‑users while supporting the broader goals of the Colas Group.
