Mary From Dungloe International Arts Festival Company Limited by Guarantee organises the beloved Mary From Dungloe International Arts Festival, a community-driven celebration that has taken place each summer in Dungloe, County Donegal since 1967. The festival offers a family-friendly programme of music, culture, sport, art and novelty events, ranging from concerts and a colourful carnival parade to children's activities, a dedicated Irish-culture day and a lively sports day. A distinctive feature is the participation of Irish diaspora communities and local towns, each nominating a young woman to represent their area; the winner is crowned "Mary From Dungloe" and serves as an ambassador for the festival, Dungloe and the wider Donegal region for the ensuing year.
