BALLINAGREE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMPANY

Ballinagree Community Development Company is a volunteer-run charitable organisation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the Ballinagree area of County Cork. Since its formation in 2015, the group has focused on creating safe, family-friendly public spaces - most notably the new playground, walkway, footpath and car park that were approved by Cork County Council and opened in 2019 after a successful fundraising campaign that raised over €20,000.

The company's core activities centre on community mobilisation, grant-seeking and project management. It has secured charitable status, applied for LEADER funding through IRD Duhallow, and worked closely with local authorities and politicians to amend development plans and obtain planning permission. In addition to infrastructure projects, Ballinagree Community Development Company organises concerts, quizzes and other events that both raise funds and foster a strong sense of local togetherness. Its collaborative, grassroots approach ensures that residents have a direct voice in shaping the village's future.
