Company Description
The Heartbeat Trust is an Irish charity dedicated to preventing heart failure and supporting those living with the condition. Founded by Prof Ken McDonald and Prof Mark Ledwidge, the organisation brings together specialist clinical expertise and research to tackle a disease that affects one in five people in their lifetime and accounts for more deaths than bowel or breast cancer in Ireland.
Through its national STOP-HF campaign, the Trust offers free heart-failure screening, regular webinars and educational resources that empower individuals to manage their risk. It also curates real-life stories and patient testimonials, providing a supportive community for those affected. By funding specialist services and pioneering research, the Heartbeat Trust aims to reduce the estimated €660 million cost of heart failure and improve outcomes for the roughly 90,000 Irish residents living with the condition.
Operating across the Republic, the Trust collaborates with healthcare providers, charities and the wider public to raise awareness, deliver early-diagnosis tools and foster a healthier, heart-conscious Ireland.
