BNRG SHESSY LIMITED

BNRG Shessy is a pioneering solar‑energy development situated on 86 hectares near Cahercarney and Shessy in south County Galway. Backed by BNRG – a Dublin‑based solar specialist with almost two decades of global experience – the project will generate 70 MW of clean electricity, enough to meet the needs of roughly 10,800 households while avoiding an estimated 16,400 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.

The development is designed with a strong emphasis on environmental, archaeological and landscape stewardship. Enhanced hedgerows, buffers and strategic planting screen the low‑lying array, while rigorous traffic‑mitigation plans ensure uninterrupted access for local residents, farms and businesses during the nine‑month construction phase and subsequent commissioning works.
