CLAREMORRIS COMMUNITY RECREATIONAL CENTRE COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Claremorris Community Recreational Centre Company Limited by Guarantee is a community‑driven organisation established in June 2024 to deliver a modern, inclusive sports and leisure hub for the town of Claremorris. Working in partnership with local clubs, schools and youth groups, the Centre will provide a state‑of‑the‑art indoor sports facility offering basketball, badminton, rugby, soccer and a dedicated wall‑ball area for skills development, alongside flexible spaces for social, cultural and educational activities.

The proposed centre will sit beside the existing outdoor pitches, athletics track and the Old Racecourse site on the Castlebar Road, creating a year‑round training venue for GAA, soccer, rugby and a range of indoor disciplines such as futsal, gymnastics and fitness classes. It will also house a safe, welcoming youth space for organisations like Foróige and No Name, and be fully accessible for senior citizens and community groups, with provisions for trade shows, art exhibitions and other events.

Guided by a seven‑member committee, the project relies on public consultation, fundraising and sponsorship to turn this vision into a lasting community asset.
