Hickey’s Home Farm is a family‑run enterprise based in Ardee, Co Louth, where three generations combine tradition with modern technology to supply the Irish market with premium potatoes, vegetables, cereals and beef. Potatoes form the backbone of the business, prompting substantial investment in state‑of‑the‑art grading, storage, growing and harvesting equipment, while the vegetable range – from carrots first sown in 1957 to cabbage, cauliflower, turnips and broccoli – reflects the farm’s long‑standing horticultural expertise.

The farm cultivates roughly 1,000 acres of cereals each year, harvesting wheat, barley and oats primarily for animal feed, and rears a herd of about 350 continental cattle from weanlings to finished beef, ensuring high‑quality meat for both wholesale and retail customers. All produce meets Bord Bia‑approved standards, underscoring Hickey’s commitment to home‑grown, healthy food.

In addition to supplying small retailers and large wholesalers, the on‑site Farm Shop offers a curated selection of fresh farm produce, locally baked breads, cakes, jams, honey and whole‑food items, providing the community with a genuine taste of Irish agriculture.
