GORTBRACK FARMS LIMITED

Gortbrack Organic Farm is a certified organic smallholding situated just five miles outside Tralee in County Kerry. Founded in 1991 by Eileen Carroll and Ian McGrigor, the farm has transformed a once‑overrun ten‑acre strip into a thriving hub of sustainable agriculture, biodiversity and community education.

The farm offers a range of specialist services. Visitors can stay in three self‑catering eco‑cabins built from timber, powered by solar panels and heated with wood‑burning stoves, each equipped with a fitted kitchen, bathroom and broadband. Gortbrack also provides eco‑landscaping solutions—including native hedgerow and woodland planting, wildlife‑friendly gardens, edible garden design, permaculture and sensory gardens—for private and public spaces. Its education programme supports schools and trainers through guided organic garden projects, hands‑on gardening courses, farm tours, a nature trail, a tree‑nursery initiative and the publication “The Year‑Round Organic School Garden”.
