The Irish Liver Foundation Charity Company Limited by Guarantee is a national charity dedicated to supporting anyone affected by liver disease. It offers practical assistance and information to patients, their families and healthcare professionals, while also championing research, awareness and education across Ireland.

Through a suite of resources the Foundation covers the full spectrum of liver health – from detailed guidance on dietary choices, medication management and exercise programmes to up‑to‑date information on specific liver conditions. Its advocacy work is underpinned by stark statistics: a 452 % rise in liver‑related deaths between 1971 and 2012 and a mortality risk for hospitalised liver patients that is two to three times higher than for heart attacks or COPD.

By publishing a regular newsletter and drawing support from public figures such as Senator David Norris, the Irish Liver Foundation strives to improve patient care, accelerate research and ultimately reduce the burden of liver disease throughout the country.
