RETINA INTERNATIONAL

Retina International is a global charitable organisation devoted to improving the lives of people living with inherited retinal degenerations (IRDs). By uniting scientists, clinicians, advocates and those directly affected, the charity provides a central hub of information, support and advocacy. Its core mission is to illuminate hope, accelerate research and foster a compassionate community that can share knowledge and experience.

The charity offers a suite of resources that include up-to-date research findings, educational materials, media content and policy advocacy. It runs regular surveys to capture the mental and emotional impact of IRDs, helping shape future mental-health support for the community. Through its network of 43 active patient-led groups, Retina International organises events such as the VISIONS World Congress, publishes landmark studies, and provides a platform for patients to connect, learn and influence research priorities. By championing both scientific progress and patient voices, Retina International works tirelessly to bring light to the journey of those affected by retinal degeneration.
