THE SOCIAL AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING ALLIANCE COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The Social and Affordable Housing Alliance Company Limited by Guarantee – known as the Housing Alliance – is a collaborative voice for Ireland’s seven largest Approved Housing Bodies. By uniting these key AHBs, the Alliance works to accelerate the delivery of social and affordable homes, remove barriers to construction, and champion professional standards in housing management.

Together the members currently manage more than 50,000 social and affordable properties, providing secure accommodation for families who cannot afford to buy or rent on the open market. With the capacity to deliver over 25,000 new homes in the next three years, the Alliance represents a significant proportion of the government’s social‑housing target. Its core activities include lobbying for sustainable, multi‑annual funding, advocating for a single‑stage planning process for standardised projects, and urging a shift from CALF loans to a government equity stake in the funding model.

The Housing Alliance serves both the families in need of stable homes and the public sector partners – local authorities and government bodies – with whom its members have decades of trusted experience.
