Green Offaly – the trading name of GO Sustainable Development Trust Company Limited by Guarantee – is a county‑wide, not‑for‑profit Green Regeneration enterprise operating as a Development Trust. Born from the Offaly Public Participation Network Initiative and devised as a response to the Government’s Project 2040 seminar, the organisation exists to empower communities in the fight against climate change, delivering lasting benefits for people, places and the planet across Offaly.

The Trust’s work is built around three inter‑linked strands of sustainability – environment, economy and “everybody”. Through its income‑generating arm, Green Offaly Projects, it creates social‑enterprise opportunities that fund its wider mission. Its Green Futures programme offers education, training and research to equip individuals and organisations for a sustainable transition, while the Sustainable Communities hub promotes a high‑quality life by strengthening the three strands. In addition, Green Offaly runs a Climate Change information hub, a volunteer network and a “Friend” scheme that includes Green Bee memberships, mentorship and Gold Sponsorship.

By partnering with local groups, schools and businesses, Green Offaly is charting a 20‑year journey of “doing the green thing” together, turning ambitious climate goals into practical, community‑led action.
