IRISH COLLEGE OF PHYSICISTS IN MEDICINE

The Irish College of Physicists in Medicine (ICPM) is the voluntary registration body that represents and supports medical physicists throughout Ireland. It provides a recognised framework for professionals who apply physics and applied physics to the delivery and development of healthcare, ensuring that members possess the scientific knowledge and expertise required for safe, high-quality practice.

ICPM offers a range of benefits to its members, including formal registration that guarantees adherence to rigorous safety, quality-assurance and ethical standards. This gives employers and patients confidence in a physicist's education, training and competence. Members also enjoy access to a dedicated CPD portal for storing evidence of continued learning, and they benefit from links to the European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics (EFOMP) Professional Matters Committee. The College is currently welcoming new applications, with an online process that guides candidates through eligibility, documentation and specialist areas.
