THE IRISH COALITION FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH OBESITY COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The Irish Coalition for People Living with Obesity (ICPO) is a national, not‑for‑profit organisation that brings together individuals living with obesity to champion education, advocacy and support across the island. As a patient‑led body, ICPO produces and disseminates Irish Clinical Practice Guidelines, publishes accessible resources such as the award‑winning book *Mum, What Is Obesity?*, and runs the HSE Best Health programme – a group‑based intervention for people with obesity.

ICPO’s work also spans public engagement and policy influence: it contributed to the Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology Commission’s new obesity criteria, hosts podcasts and TEDx talks that spotlight lived experience, and collaborates with the HSE on health‑and‑wellbeing initiatives. Recent accolades include the European Coalition for People Living with Obesity’s Best Public Engagement Programme award for its World Obesity Day activities.

Through board updates, infographics on preparing for medical consultations, and a vibrant online community, ICPO strives to dismantle stigma, empower patients and improve services for anyone living with overweight or obesity throughout Ireland.
