Company Description
The Irish Filmmakers Society – operating as the Louth Filmmakers Society – is a non‑profit organisation devoted to nurturing local arts and media in County Louth. By offering funding, training and access to production resources, the society empowers emerging and established creators to develop short films, documentaries, radio plays and other independent media that reflect the community’s voice.
Members benefit from a shared pool of expertise and equipment, gaining confidence and practical experience as they work on projects such as the short films *The Calling* by John O’Hanlon and *It Ain’t Me Babe* by Olof Berg. In addition to production support, the society runs a photo gallery, regular news updates and a newsletter to keep the local creative network connected and inspired.
With a clear focus on community‑led storytelling, the Irish Filmmakers Society provides a collaborative platform where Louth’s filmmakers can turn ideas into compelling, locally‑rooted content while building a stronger infrastructure for independent film in the region.
