Company Description
GEOTREALLÚS Dhúiche Sheoigeach agus Lochanna an Iarthair Cuidéachta faoi Theorainn Ráthaíochta – better known as the Joyce Country Geopark Project – is a community‑driven organisation that protects, interprets and promotes the unique geological heritage of western Ireland. By showcasing spectacular sites such as the karst‑rich Cong Woods, Ireland’s sole fjord at Killary, the ancient Clonbur limestone pavement and the glacial valley of Glen Inagh, the Geopark offers visitors and locals alike an immersive way to explore the region’s “whispering landscape”.
The project delivers a range of services, from on‑site guided walks and educational programmes to a virtual StoryMap tour that brings the geosites to a global audience. Regular newsletters, news updates and recruitment drives keep the community informed and involved, while the Geopark’s focus on culture, language and history ensures a holistic visitor experience that blends natural wonder with Irish heritage.
