Company Description
Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People is a Dublin-based charitable organisation that has been delivering practical support to people experiencing homelessness for more than 56 years. Founded in 1969 by Capuchin friar Brother Kevin Crowley and inspired by the spirit of St Francis of Assisi, the centre welcomes every guest without judgement, operating on a "no questions asked" basis and placing dignity and respect at the heart of its work.
The centre's services are wide-ranging and responsive to the needs of its guests. Each day it provides hot meals for up to 1 050 people, distributes over 1 400 food parcels weekly and offers hygiene facilities such as showers, clean clothing and haircuts. An on-site clinical team delivers medical, dental, optical and chiropody services, while specialised family support includes infant parcels, back-to-school packs and maternity kits for families in food poverty. In 2024 alone the centre served 345 593 hot meals, 78 610 food parcels and over 11 000 clinic appointments, underscoring its vital role in Dublin's homeless support network.
