Company Description
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB) is the independent, internationally recognised authority that governs horseracing across the island of Ireland. Under the Horse Racing Ireland Act 2016 the Board alone is responsible for making and enforcing the Rules of Racing, licensing every participant and overseeing all aspects of regulation - from anti-doping and handicapping to the appointment of professional officials and volunteer race-day stewards. By safeguarding the sport's integrity, the IHRB protects an industry that supports more than 30,000 jobs and contributes €2.46 billion to the Irish economy.
Each year the IHRB supervises roughly 500 race fixtures in the 32 counties, covering Flat, National Hunt and Point-to-Point racing and managing around 39,000 runners. Its services include daily stewards' enquiry reports, non-runner and reserve listings, ground and going reports, and a comprehensive library of rulebooks, annual reports and integrity statistics. With a clear vision of assuring public trust and a purpose centred on transparent, robust regulation, the IHRB delivers best-in-class oversight for everyone involved in Irish horseracing.
