The Thomas Hayes Trust - known locally as Teac Tom - is a community-driven voluntary organisation that delivers mental-health support and suicide-intervention services to anyone in need. Operating on a 24-hour basis, the Trust offers affordable, immediate assistance to individuals struggling with their mental wellbeing or coping with bereavement after suicide, ensuring help is always just a call away.

Its core services are built around a personalised, practical and engaging approach. Teac Tom provides interactive support that connects people with the right resources, from one-to-one conversations to group-based community activities. By working from the ground up, the Trust tailors its interventions to the specific needs of the local population, fostering a safe space where users can explore their thoughts and feelings in a supportive environment.

The organisation is based in Kilkenny city and also runs a second centre in Stradbally, Co. Laois, relying entirely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and the wider community to keep its vital doors open.
