Scarteen Farm Limited is a family‑run equestrian estate that has been the Ryan family’s home since the 1750s. Nestled in the heart of the Golden Vale on the Limerick/Tipperary border, the farm is now recognised internationally as a first‑class venue for competition, training and the preservation of traditional Irish hunting.

The business specialises in three core areas. The Scarteen Hunt maintains a historic pack of Black and Tan hounds – a lineage that stretches back over 350 years – and welcomes visitors from around the world to experience authentic hound hunting and hospitality. In the eventing sphere, Sue and Chris Ryan have been developing young event horses since 1990, with graduates now competing on the global stage. Their purpose‑built facilities include a Derby track and an annual Future Event Horse League Qualifier, providing a structured pathway for promising horses to launch serious eventing careers.
