CUAN – Cancer Understanding And Nurturing – is a charitable social‑support organisation that offers a confidential, free service to anyone affected by cancer, including patients, family members and caregivers. Drawing on a multidisciplinary team of therapists, counsellors and dedicated volunteers, CUAN provides a safe haven where individuals can discuss their concerns, receive personalised assessments and be guided onto appropriate pathways of care.

The centre’s suite of services encompasses psychological counselling, reflexology, massage therapy (including Indian head massage), Reiki and nutrition advice. In addition, CUAN supplies a range of informational booklets and pamphlets, runs drop‑in sessions, and delivers survivorship programmes, courses and workshops designed to enhance wellbeing and quality of life after treatment. All interventions are delivered with a focus on nurturing resilience and fostering a sense of community.

Based in Cavan, CUAN welcomes referrals from patients, families, hospitals, GPs, public health nurses and other health professionals, ensuring that anyone navigating the cancer journey can access holistic support in a comfortable, confidential environment.
