ALCOHOL AWARENESS FOUNDATION IRELAND

Alcohol Awareness Foundation Ireland - better known as Drinkaware - is the national charity dedicated to preventing and reducing alcohol misuse across the island. Governed by an independent board and regulated by the Charities Regulator, Drinkaware works with individuals, families, workplaces and policy makers to promote healthier choices and improve wellbeing.

The organisation offers a suite of practical, evidence-informed tools, including an interactive Drinks Calculator that shows the impact of alcohol on health, finances and calories, and a Standard Drinks Calculator to demystify drink strengths. Its online hub provides resources on sober-curious and mindful drinking, mental-health guidance, and a parent-focused portal for starting conversations with children about alcohol. Drinkaware also delivers virtual workplace-wellness workshops, educational videos, quizzes on low-risk guidelines, and a library of health-promotion materials that can be ordered for delivery. In addition, the charity invests in robust national research, publishing briefings and maintaining an alcohol research bank to inform public policy and community initiatives.
