Company Description
Seal Rescue Ireland is a charitable organisation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, injured and orphaned seal pups from across the island. Operating a 24-hour rescue line and supported by more than 600 volunteer rescuers, the team swiftly assesses and transports seals to their specialist hospital where they receive round-the-clock care until they are ready to return to the wild.
Based in Courtown, County Wexford, the centre also runs a vibrant visitor experience. Guests can join a "Rescuer for a Day", take part in seal-feed and enrichment sessions, or simply meet the pup patients and learn about the rehabilitation process. The charity further engages the public through education programmes, virtual tours, school-age workshops and an extensive resource library on Ireland's wild seal population.
Support is offered via a range of options - from adopting a seal pup (under the new "Precious Gems & Stones" naming theme) and becoming a Seal Hero member, to volunteering, sponsorship and donations. Through these initiatives Seal Rescue Ireland promotes ocean conservation, sustainability and the motto "Healthy Seas, Healthy Seals".
