The Irish Institute of Legal Executives (IILEX) is a professional body that has been championing the development of legal executives since its formation in 1987 and incorporation in 1992. Its core mission is to provide a structured system of training, examination and recognised qualification for individuals working in every facet of legal employment - from private practice and the legal departments of banks to public authorities, local councils and commercial enterprises.

IILEX represents and promotes Registered Legal Executives, encouraging the highest standards of practice across the sector. Members benefit from a range of diploma courses, membership pathways and specialist programmes such as Data-Protection readiness and the institute's flagship White Paper. The institute also celebrates excellence, with members like Deirdre O'Donovan and Jennifer Weafer receiving the Irish Law Awards' Best Legal Executive titles in 2019 and 2018 respectively.
