Company Description
The Irish Planning Institute (Institiuid Pleanala Na hÉireann) is the all-island professional body that represents planners working in physical, spatial and environmental planning across Ireland and abroad. Founded in 1975, the Institute now brings together more than 1,000 members from local authorities, academia, An Coimisiún Pleanála, central government, regional assemblies, private-practice consultancies, large developers and semi-state organisations.
Through a robust programme of continuing professional development - including webinars such as the Accelerating Infrastructure CPD series, a regular planners' podcast and specialist workshops - the IPI helps members stay at the forefront of planning practice. It also offers a strong collective voice, feeding member insight into policy submissions, consultations and surveys, and providing opportunities to sit on committees or the Board of Directors.
Membership delivers networking, professional recognition and access to the Institute's journal, *Pleanáil*, as well as a platform for influencing the future of planning throughout the island.
