The Association of Consulting Forensic Engineers (established in 1982) is a professional body of chartered engineers who operate as independent consulting engineers throughout the island of Ireland. Its members-approximately fifty strong-bring recognised engineering expertise to legal proceedings, delivering impartial witness testimony, detailed investigations and authoritative reports for courts and tribunals.

Key services include forensic inspections, the preparation of expert reports and briefs, and guidance on best practice through the Association's comprehensive court-report guidelines. By acting as unbiased witnesses, the engineers help judges and juries understand complex technical matters, ensuring that evidence is presented clearly and credibly.

Membership is open solely to chartered engineers who meet rigorous qualification standards and obtain references from existing members.
