PASSAGE EAST FERRY COMPANY LIMITED

Passage East Ferry Company Limited has been operating a continuous car-ferry service across the historic River Suir since 1982, linking the villages of Passage East in Co. Waterford with Ballyhack in Co. Wexford. The service runs daily, with the last sailing at 8 pm throughout the season from 1 September 2025 to 31 May 2026, and requires no pre-booking - passengers can pay by cash or card directly on board.

The ferry caters to both commuters and tourists, offering quick access to Waterford City, Dunmore East, the Waterford Greenway, New Ross, Duncannon, the Hook Peninsula and Wexford town. Flexible ticket options include a 12-trip commuter ticket (car included) and a €3.50 return ticket, as well as a 6-trip ticket with no expiry, all of which can be purchased online or via the downloadable Passageferry app.

By providing a reliable, affordable crossing of the Suir, Passage East Ferry helps keep the south-east region well-connected and encourages exploration of the many attractions on both sides of the river.
