Company Description
Treoir - the National Federation of Services for Unmarried Parents and Their Children - is a Dublin-based organisation dedicated to supporting cohabiting parents, their extended families and the professionals who work with them. It offers a free, confidential information service covering legal, social-welfare and parenting matters, helping unmarried parents navigate complex family-law issues such as access, custody, maintenance and guardianship while promoting shared-parenting practices.
A core part of Treoir's work is the delivery of specialist programmes, including a 10-week, in-person pre-mediation and shared-parenting course that runs weekly in the capital. The federation also campaigns for legislative reform - most recently urging the swift enactment of the Bereaved Partners Pension Bill - and develops policy proposals aimed at ensuring that children of unmarried parents enjoy the same rights and support as those born to married couples.
Through advocacy, education and direct support, Treoir strives to create a more inclusive family-law framework and to empower all parents, regardless of marital status, to provide loving, stable environments for their children.
