The Clare Traveller Community Development Project (CDP) is a community‑led charity dedicated to enhancing the living conditions, opportunities and human‑rights outcomes for Travellers across County Clare. Its core mission is to empower Travellers to devise their own solutions by forging strong local alliances, nurturing effective Traveller leadership and amplifying a unified Traveller voice.

The CDP delivers a wide range of programmes that address health, mental health, education, culture and accommodation. Key initiatives include a Health Programme, an Education, Training and Progression Programme, a Traveller Culture and Identity Programme, and targeted projects such as driving‑lesson support, a women’s leadership programme, family‑support playgroups and summer camps. The organisation also conducts information mornings, accommodation‑needs analyses and a variety of community events that celebrate Traveller pride and foster acceptance.

Through strategic planning, rigorous evaluation and close partnership with local authorities and the HSE, the Clare Traveller CDP is making a tangible difference in the lives of Travellers, helping them to thrive within a supportive, inclusive community.
