CRANA ENGINEERING LIMITED

Crana Engineering Limited is a family-owned fabrication and engineering business that has been operating since 1974. Based just outside Buncrana on the Inishowen Peninsula, the company now employs around 20 skilled staff and serves clients throughout the north-west of Ireland and beyond, delivering bespoke metalwork and structural steel solutions.

The firm's core capabilities include the design, manufacture and installation of gates, railings and architectural metalwork for both residential and commercial projects, all made to order. Crana also provides comprehensive structural services such as steel erection, metal decking, stud welding and the fitting of roof panels and cladding for leading composite manufacturers. In addition, it offers specialised electro-pneumatic and hydraulic power systems for textile and marine applications, and a full suite of workshop facilities - shearing, press-braking, plate rolling, profile cutting, guillotining and airless spray painting. All products are designed and fabricated in-house, ensuring competitive quotes and a keen eye for detail.

Recent highlights include the restoration of the Buncrana Pier lighthouse, where Crana replaced the original cast-iron structure with a modern fibreglass solution, showcasing its ability to blend traditional craftsmanship with innovative engineering.
