BRAINWAVE-THE IRISH EPILEPSY ASSOCIATION

Brainwave - The Irish Epilepsy Association, operating under the name Epilepsy Ireland, is a national charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by epilepsy. Its core mission is to create a society where no one's opportunities are limited by the condition, and it works through education, advocacy and community support.

The organisation offers a range of services, including online meet-ups for adults living with epilepsy, opportunities to share personal stories, and information on critical issues such as Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). It also encourages public involvement on International Epilepsy Day (9 February) and provides guidance on legacy giving, helping supporters secure the future of its programmes through gifts in wills. In addition, Epilepsy Ireland collaborates with research initiatives, inviting adults with epilepsy to contribute to studies such as Lia's research project.
