Annaholty Green Energy Limited is a specialist renewable‑energy developer and the sister company of GreenGas AD Plant, Ireland’s first commercial‑scale anaerobic digestion (AD) facility. Building on the success of the Shanagolden plant in Co. Limerick, Annaholty Green Energy is proposing a state‑of‑the‑art AD plant in Annaholty, Co. Tipperary that will convert locally sourced organic feedstock into biomethane for direct injection into the national gas grid.

The proposed plant is designed to generate up to 40 GWh of renewable gas each year – enough to power roughly 3,200 homes – while creating new income streams for surrounding farmers who supply sustainable feedstock. Operated to the highest safety and environmental standards and fully licensed by the Environmental Protection Agency, the facility will help Ireland meet its National Biomethane Strategy target of 10 % biomethane in the gas supply by 2030, reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels and cutting greenhouse‑gas emissions.
