THE 100 MILLION TREES PROJECT COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The 100 Million Trees Project Company Limited by Guarantee is a national environmental charity dedicated to planting 100 million native Irish trees over the next decade. By creating “mini‑forests” on sites as small as a tenth of an acre, the organisation uses the Miyawaki method – a dense, mixed‑species planting technique that accelerates growth and boosts biodiversity – to transform scrubland, wasteland and under‑used spaces into thriving carbon sinks and community assets.

Since its launch, the project has already planted more than 830 000 trees across 302 sites in 27 counties, with a further 1.3 million trees slated for the 2025/26 planting season. Landowners, schools, community groups and businesses can take part by offering a quarter‑acre site; the trees are supplied and planted free of charge, and the resulting mini‑forest is maintained by volunteers and the project team. Major sponsors such as Uniphar and Arantis ULC support the initiative, enabling large‑scale planting and public outreach.

Operating throughout the Republic of Ireland, the 100 Million Trees Project invites anyone with suitable land to join the movement and help “grow a greener future” – one tree, one site, one community at a time.
