Company Description
The Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (ITBA) is the recognised representative body for Ireland’s thoroughbred breeding industry, acting on behalf of breeders at both national and international government levels. Since 1926 the association has worked to safeguard the future of Irish breeding, championing the sector through promotion, advocacy, education and practical support for every breeder – from small‑scale operations to large stud farms, across flat and National Hunt disciplines.
ITBA delivers a comprehensive suite of services designed to strengthen the industry. Its incentive and bonus schemes, including the National Hunt Fillies Bonus Scheme, reward and encourage the production of high‑quality horses. The association also organises regional and national awards that celebrate breeder achievements, and runs an extensive education programme featuring “Ask the Expert”, preparation and veterinary series. In addition, ITBA provides guidance, welfare advice and networking opportunities through seminars, events and a dedicated online hub.
Headquartered in Kill, County Kildare, the ITBA team works closely with members throughout the island of Ireland, ensuring that Irish thoroughbred breeding remains among the world’s most renowned and successful.
