The Irish Piemontese Cattle Society Company Limited by Guarantee is the national hub for the promotion and development of the Piemontese breed in Ireland. Originating from the Piedmont region of northern Italy, the first Piemontese cattle were introduced to the country in the 1980s and have since become prized for their light‑boned frame, fine elastic skin and exceptionally lean, tender meat – a result of a double copy of the myostatin gene.

The Society supports breeders and producers through a range of specialist services. It offers the latest artificial‑insemination (AI) semen from top‑quality bulls, maintains a comprehensive directory of registered members, and provides detailed guidance on best‑practice breeding techniques for the breed. By facilitating access to superior genetics and sharing expert knowledge, the Society helps farmers achieve higher meat quality and greater profitability.
