TUNNEY SONG TRADITION TRUST COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The Tunney Song Tradition Trust Company Limited by Guarantee was founded in 2023 by the children and grandchildren of Paddy Tunney – “The Man of Songs”. Its core purpose is to safeguard, research, publish and bring to life the written, oral and vocal legacy of Paddy Tunney. By curating manuscripts, organising performances and producing scholarly editions, the Trust ensures that Tunney’s repertoire remains a vibrant part of Ireland’s cultural heritage.

A flagship project is the re‑introduction of The Stone Fiddle, a collection of more than 60 songs that blend memoir, folklore and the folk‑song tradition of the 1930s. Through concerts, workshops and a dedicated events calendar, the Trust offers audiences and scholars alike the chance to experience these songs in their original context. Its activities – from research‑driven publications to live “Restringing the Stone Fiddle” events – serve musicians, historians and anyone with a passion for Irish oral tradition.
