Company Description
Garryhinch Wind Farm Designated Activity Company is a 50:50 joint venture between Bord na Móna and SSE Renewables, created to deliver up to 800 MW of new on‑shore wind capacity across the Irish Midlands. The company’s core activity is the development, construction and operation of the Garryhinch Wind Farm, a renewable electricity project that will feed clean power into Ireland’s domestic grid.
Specialising in community‑focused renewable development, Garryhinch Wind Farm maintains a dedicated Community Engagement and Stakeholder Team, led by a Community Liaison Officer, to keep local residents informed and involved throughout the project lifecycle. The venture also offers a mailing‑list service for regular updates, and it actively promotes the wider benefits of wind energy—such as supporting Ireland’s target of 80 % renewable electricity by 2030 and contributing to the nation’s growing on‑shore wind capacity.
By harnessing the strong wind resources that already supplied over 85 % of Ireland’s renewable generation in 2022, Garryhinch Wind Farm aims to provide reliable, green power while delivering tangible community advantages throughout the Midlands region.
