StreamScapes Company Limited by Guarantee is a not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to connecting Irish communities with the rivers, streams and biodiversity of their local catchments. Since 1989, the Bantry‑based charity has empowered schools, community groups and heritage organisations to explore, understand and protect the natural assets that shape everyday life across the island.

The charity’s work centres on three pillars: immersive environmental education that brings Ireland’s waterways to life; collaborative community projects that design place‑based catchment initiatives and foster stewardship; and the production of accessible biodiversity resources, including guidebooks, research‑led publications and creative tools such as the “Who lives in my townland?” booklet and the “Ireland, land of rivers” celebration. Notable programmes include a captive‑breeding research project for the freshwater pearl mussel and the launch of the Blue Dot Guidebooks in partnership with LAWPRO.

Through hands‑on projects, podcasts and a growing library of publications, StreamScapes inspires a new generation of environmental stewards, helping people of all ages discover the richness of their local environment and take meaningful action to safeguard it.
