GIG BUDDIES IRELAND COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Gig Buddies Ireland CLG is a registered non‑profit social enterprise (company limited by guarantee, registration 731663) that brings the UK‑originated Gig Buddies model to Dublin. The charity pairs volunteers who require little or no support with adults who have a learning disability, autistic adults, or autistic adults with high support needs. The aim is to reduce social isolation by accompanying these individuals to community events, gigs, or any activity they both enjoy, fostering friendship, fun and greater community involvement.

The service operates as a voluntary befriending scheme, making it easier for volunteers to attend events they would already be going to while providing the extra assistance their buddies may need. Gig Buddies Ireland is currently running a pilot group in partnership with WALK and is recruiting a small number of volunteers, with plans to expand the project across Dublin and beyond. The initiative is supported by the Adult Autism & ADHD Practice.
