The 5th Mayo Scouts Group Ballina Company Limited by Guarantee is a vibrant youth organisation that has been enriching the Ballina community for almost a century. Open to both boys and girls, the group delivers a wide‑range of scouting activities – from hiking and camping in the nearby Belleek woods to community‑service projects and educational programmes that foster personal growth and civic responsibility.

Central to the group’s mission is leadership development; many former scouts have gone on to become respected community leaders and professionals. Recent investment of €1.15 million from the Department of Rural and Community Development, together with engineering support from the Maloney Group, will see the construction of a new, safe Scouts den and community centre on a green field site in Belleek, adjacent to the woodland trails. This modern facility will provide a welcoming hub for outdoor adventures, skill‑building workshops and local events, ensuring the 5th Mayo Scouts continue to be a cornerstone of youth development in Ballina, County Mayo.
