OCTOCON IRISH SCIENCE FICTION ASSOCIATION COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Octocon Irish Science Fiction Association Company Limited by Guarantee is the organiser of Ireland’s national science‑fiction, fantasy and horror convention. Each October the association brings together writers, artists, filmmakers, gamers and fans for a weekend of panels, workshops, cosplay, trade‑hall exhibitions and screenings, celebrating the stories that shape our imagination.

For 2026 the convention will be held at the Clayton Hotel Cork City and streamed live online, offering a hybrid experience that caters to both in‑person attendees and remote participants. Octocon provides a tiered membership scheme—including concession, young‑adult, child, online‑only and supporting levels—allowing members to access the full programme, network with Guest‑of‑Honour authors such as Adrian Tchaikovsky and C.E. (Catie) Murphy, and take part in community‑driven events.

The association also runs a vibrant online presence, with live broadcasts on Twitch and YouTube, and actively recruits volunteers to help deliver an inclusive, well‑organised convention. Octocon serves anyone with a passion for speculative fiction, from seasoned creators to the next generation of fans.
