DERRINLOUGH WIND FARM SUPPLY DESIGNATED ACTIVITY COMPANY

Derrinlough Wind Farm Designated Activity Company (DAC) is a renewable‑energy developer based in County Offaly. Backed by a €150 million investment from BnM, the company is constructing a large on‑shore wind farm that will generate low‑carbon electricity to help Ireland achieve its 80 % renewable‑electricity target by 2030. The farm’s output will feed directly into the national grid, contributing to the growing share of wind power that already supplied over half of Ireland’s renewable electricity in 2023.

Beyond power generation, Derrinlough Wind Farm DAC is committed to the communities that host its infrastructure. It administers the Derrinlough Community Benefit Fund, which offers grants to local groups, and runs an Educational Scholarship Scheme to support students pursuing studies related to renewable energy. A dedicated Community Benefit Fund Committee, appointed from local stakeholders, ensures that the benefits are tailored to the area’s needs. Through these programmes, the company aims to foster sustainable development, create local employment opportunities and reinforce Ireland’s energy independence.
