CUMMEENNABUDDOGE WIND DESIGNATED ACTIVITY COMPANY

Cummeennabuddoge Wind Designated Activity Company (DAC) is a joint‑venture developer driving a major on‑shore wind project on the Cork/Kerry border. Backed by FuturEnergy Ireland – a 50:50 partnership between Coillte and ESB – and SSE Renewables, the company has submitted a planning application to An Bord Pleanála for a wind farm on a 925‑hectare site at Cummeennabuddoge, Co. Kerry, roughly five kilometres north‑west of Ballyvourney.

The proposal envisages up to 17 modern turbines, capable of delivering more than 1 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. When operating at full design, the farm would generate enough electricity to power around 81,900 homes each year, avoid roughly 4.5 million tonnes of carbon emissions and contribute to Ireland’s target of 80 % renewable
