IRISH EPILEPSY LEAGUE COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The Irish Epilepsy League Company Limited by Guarantee is a not‑for‑profit organisation and the Irish chapter of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE). Its core mission is to promote education, research and advocacy for people with epilepsy and for the health‑care professionals who care for them across Ireland. By bringing together clinicians, scientists and trainees, the League creates a collaborative network that advances knowledge and improves services for those living with epilepsy.

Key activities include the organisation of specialist events such as the annual conference, the Epilepsy Expert Day and the International Epilepsy Congress, which in 2023 returned to Dublin for the first time since 1997. The League also supports policy change, exemplified by its advocacy for the newly expanded Free Travel scheme that will benefit thousands of Irish people with epilepsy. Membership is open to healthcare professionals and trainees involved in epilepsy care or research, providing them with access to cutting‑edge education, research updates and a platform for professional development.
