Company Description
The Irish Bee Conservation Project (IBCP) is a charitable organisation dedicated to safeguarding Ireland's native bee species and the wider pollinator community. Founded in 2019 from a pioneering research programme led by Dr Ciaran Geoghegan, the IBCP works across the Republic of Ireland to create sustainable habitats, advance biodiversity and inspire public stewardship of pollinators.
Through a blend of hands-on conservation and education, the project installs specially-designed bee lodges and cavity-nesting habitats, runs an annual clover-sowing campaign, and delivers school-based and community programmes that illustrate the vital link between bees, flowering flora and food security. In partnership with bodies such as the Irish Heritage Trust, Fota Wildlife Park and third-level institutions, IBCP also conducts research on solitary-bee ecology and advocates for bee-friendly land-use practices. Volunteers, members and families can join the effort via the project's volunteer, membership and kids-zone initiatives, helping to ensure a thriving pollinator population for future generations.
