EQUALITY FOR CHILDREN

Equality for Children is a volunteer-led campaign dedicated to securing legal recognition for the families of LGBTQ+ parents across Ireland. Founded in October 2019 by a group of parents who experienced the denial of equal rights for their children, the organisation campaigns for swift amendments to the Children and Family Relationships Act and a redraft of the Assisted Human Reproduction Bill, urging the government to adopt all recommendations from Professor Conor O'Mahony's report.

The campaign's core activities include mobilising public support through a petition, encouraging supporters to email their TDs, and raising funds to sustain its advocacy work. By rallying volunteers and engaging the wider community, Equality for Children seeks to ensure that every child, regardless of their parents' sexual orientation or gender identity, can enjoy the same legal protections and parental recognition as any other Irish child.
